Power Math Consulting is owned and operated by Karen Favie, a fully credentialed math teacher with 28 years of classroom experience. I have taught every level of math course from grade 5 – AP Calculus.

Am I a good teacher? Yes.

How do I know?

*My math students at PSA consistently outperform the district, the county, and the state of California on statewide, standardized tests (CAASPP). Even when compared to advanced local charter schools, my students outshine them all (by A LOT). While I will always tell you the students deserve all the credit for their excellence, I can’t possibly be a bad teacher, not with scores like that!

*Many of my former students have gone on to enter elite schools and/or major and earn degrees in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science.

On a more personal note, I enjoy going home to my 3 cats: Trouble, Chee-Chee, and To-To. I grew up right here in Cordelia (graduated from Armijo High in 1990) and currently live in Suisun. While 100% home-grown, I’m a world-traveler, adventurer and a soon-to-be-published (I hope) author. I’ve climbed mountains in Peru, biked through jungles in Cambodia, meditated and trekked in Thailand, walked portions of the Camino in Spain, enjoyed every country in Western Europe, gazed upon Kilimanjaro on Tanzania, watched the sunrise over the Serengeti plain from a hot-air balloon, and I’ve been close enough to see the blood on a male lion’s face while hearing the bones crunching as he ate his kill in Zambia. Yeah, I’m REALLY into travel! And if that’s not enough, I built a campervan and then drove it to Alaska.

I’ve also had a RIDICULOUS number of truly life-or-death experiences. Seriously, it’s a miracle that I am still alive! That’s why I wrote a book 🙂
